Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day

Arrive in Quito and enjoy the day to explore the beautiful city at your own pace. If you wish, contact us for a guided city tour (available at an extra cost) to learn more about Quito’s rich culture and surroundings. In the evening, join a group meeting at 6:00 PM in the hotel’s lobby to meet your guide and fellow travelers. Your guide will provide an overview of the upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Hiking Quilotoa Crater Lake

Begin your adventure with a 3-hour drive through the Avenue of the Volcanoes to Quilotoa Crater Lake, located in the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve. After a hike down to the lake, you can rent a kayak for a unique 360-degree view from the water. Hike back up or opt for a mule or horse ride. Afterward, enjoy a lunch and visit the local market for handmade crafts before heading to our Hacienda for the night.

Day 3: Hike to Cotopaxi Glaciers

Acclimatize to the altitude with a hike to Cotopaxi’s glaciers. After a cup of soothing coca tea, start the ascent up to nearly 17,000 feet, offering panoramic views of the Cotopaxi National Park. In the afternoon, we will travel to Baños de Agua Santa, a charming town surrounded by waterfalls, where you can relax and explore the local eateries.

Day 4: Biking in Llanganates National Park

Today we bike through the scenic Llanganates National Park, starting with an hour-long uphill ride followed by a thrilling two-hour downhill descent with stunning views of Tungurahua Volcano. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the famous "Swing at the End of the World" and, time permitting, enjoy a ziplining adventure.

Day 5: Canyoning in the Amazon

Travel into the Amazon basin to experience canyoning in a tropical rainforest setting. Start with a visit to the spectacular Pailon del Diablo waterfall, followed by a scenic drive into the Amazon. After lunch, explore canyons before heading to a bonfire to learn how to make chocolate fondue using Ecuador’s finest cacao.

Day 6: Rafting on the Jatunyacu River

Get ready for an action-packed day of rafting on the Jatunyacu River. Known for its thrilling Class III rapids, this river offers an unforgettable adventure. After a picnic on the riverbank, we’ll head to a lodge for relaxation and a chance to spot amphibians and insects at night.

Day 7: Caving at The Temple of Ceremony

Explore the Templo de Ceremonia, a sacred cave used by the Kichwa people for rituals associated with Ayahuasca and Pachamama (Mother Earth). Afterward, enjoy a traditional lunch before heading back to Quito. The evening includes an optional dinner to reflect on the journey.
