The W Circuit, situated in Torres del Paine National Park, is a must for adventure seekers. It encompasses iconic landmarks such as Base Las Torres, Los Cuernos Mountains, Francés Valley, Paine Grande, and Grey Glacier. Whether you prefer camping amidst nature or indulging in the comfort of mountain hostels or private accommodations, there's an option to suit your style. Despite its physical challenges, the W Circuit offers amenities like cozy beds, hot showers, nourishing meals, and restock points along the route.

Named for its distinctive shape resembling the letter "W" when viewed from above, this trail takes you on a journey through two breathtaking mountain valleys before concluding at the opposite end of the park.

Our 4-day/3-night W Circuit Express option begins promptly on the first day, allowing you to hike to the Base Las Torres Lookout upon arrival. If you're short on time but eager to immerse yourself in the wonders of Patagonia, this expedition is tailor-made for you.

Hiking Overview:

Day 1: Transportation from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine. Hike to Las Torres Base, lodging at Central Sector.

Day 2: Hike to Francés Sector (or Cuernos), lodging at Francés Sector.

Day 3: Explore Francés Valley, lodging at Francés Sector.

Day 4: Trek to Grey Glacier Lookout Point, cross Pehoé Lake by catamaran, return to Puerto Natales.

Accommodation: campsite, mountain cabin or Hotel Program (different combinations allowed).

Guided Group: Every Wednesday, Minimum of 2 guests and a maximum of 8 people per guide

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Puerto Natales – Las Torres Base Lookout Point

The day before your departure, you will attend a technical talk and briefing, and receive your voucher and map. The following day you must show up at 6:30 am to take the 7:00 am bus to Torres del Paine National Park (2.5 hours). Upon arrival, your journey commences with a trek to Las Torres Base. This trail leads you through the picturesque Patagonian pampas, gradually ascending as you enter the Ascencio Valley, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and lakes. Passing by the Chileno Mountain Hostel and traversing a native lenga forest, this leg of the hike takes approximately an hour, winding through rocky terrain and towering boulders. At the conclusion awaits the awe-inspiring sight of the three iconic granite towers and glacial lagoon.

Transport: 2.5 hours via bus from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine

Day 2 - Hike Francés Sector

You will Stroll along the tranquil shores of Lake Nordenskjöld, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Almirante Nieto in Torres del Paine. The imposing peaks overlooking the turquoise waters below will captivate you, urging you to preserve the breathtaking scenery forever in photographs. The lake's surroundings boast remarkable geographical diversity and are inhabited by numerous bird species, including the majestic condors soaring overhead. As you continue your journey along the Arriero River, you'll find perfect spots to rest and replenish your water bottle with fresh, crystal-clear water. Upon reaching the highest vantage point, you'll be treated to a panoramic view of the lake in all its splendor, with the French Glacier cascading from the slopes of Paine Grande Mountain.

Distance: 8 mi. (13.5km) to Francés Sector

Overnight: Francés Sector

Elevation Gain: +200m/650ft

Day 3 - Trekking Francés Valley

Begin your day with a delightful hike through the Francés Valley, immersing yourself in the tranquil embrace of nature. As you journey, relish the serenity of dense forests and the soothing melody of glacial streams. Surrounded by towering mountain peaks and lush vegetation, you'll feel a profound connection to the wilderness.

Venture deeper into the wilderness, where you'll have the opportunity to replenish your water bottle with pure, fresh water from glacial streams. Along the way, marvel at the majestic Los Cuernos Mountains, casting their impressive silhouette against the sky.

The highlight of your trek awaits at the grand finale: a breathtaking lookout offering unparalleled views of the Francés Glacier and the majestic Paine Massif Mountain Range.

Hiking level: Demanding

Distance: 9.3 mi. (15km)

Overnight: Francés Sector

Elevation Gain: +640m/2,100ft

Day 4- Hike Grey Glacier Sector - Pehoé Lake Navigation - Return to Puerto Natales

As you near the conclusion of this remarkable trekking circuit, the path meanders through rocky terrain and dense native forests, teeming with diverse bird species. Following the base of the park's tallest mountain, Paine Grande (3,050 meters / 10,000 feet), you'll be treated to uninterrupted vistas of cascading glaciers, creating a surreal atmosphere. Emerging from the forest canopy, you'll reach the initial viewpoint overlooking Lake Grey, gradually witnessing the emergence of floating glacier fragments. As these ice formations grow in size, you'll be overwhelmed by a sense of awe and insignificance. Finally, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of Grey Glacier in all its splendor.

Overnight: None - Return to Puerto Natales
