Explore the remote Bolivian Salt Flats in the comfort of luxury accommodations (Luna Salada Hotel & Hotel Tayka). On this 3 day private trip you will see the best of the Salar de Uyuni sites, and experience traditional Bolivian culture in hotel rooms built entirely of salt. On day one you visit the famous Train Cemetery and Incahuasi Island. Day two you will explore Siloli Stone and Desert Tree, followed by the amazing Laguna Colorada (4200 m.), which is home to a population of Flamingos. On the final day you will visit the mud pots, geysers and the colorful lagoons - Laguna Verde & Blanca. Tour starts and finishes in Uyuni.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: TRAIN CEMETERY / INCAHUASI ISLAND / LUNA SALADA HOTEL

Pick up from the Airport and / or Bus Terminal in Uyuni.


We will visit the train cemetery, a remembrance to the first locomotives in Bolivia. Later, you will go to the Luna Salada Hotel. Guest registration at the hotel.
12:00 The tour starts at the hotel with lunch at the Tunupa Restaurant.


We will ride towards Colchani, a small town where salt is processed in the most rustic way for national distribution, you can also find the souvenir market.
Visit Playa Blanca, the first hotel built entirely of salt and now converted into a museum. A few steps away you will find the monument of the Dakar, a competition that has crossed the Salar for some years now. As well as the Island of Flags where all visitors are welcome to place their home flag. We then drive towards the Incahuasi Island and enjoy some of the most bizarre landscapes, an enormous island full of Giant cacti and petrified coral in the middle of the white desert. Take a walk around or climb the island and enjoy the opportunity to take the famous photographs using the white back ground and playing with the perspectives. Continue your walk while watching the sunset on the Salar and finish the excursion at Luna Salada hotel. You will enjoy dinner at the Tunupa Restaurant.


The hotel has hot water and heating 24 hours a day. Oxygen cans are available at reception, if required.

Day 2: MINOR LAGOONS / EDUARDO AVAROA RESERVE / SILOLI DESERT

We start the day with breakfast and then head towards the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve, on the way we’ll see the Chiguana Salt Flats where there is a military checkpoint. We will reach the lagoon sector and admire a variety of birds typical in this region. During lunch we will enjoy our view with this spectacular high landscape. After an hour and a half of travel, we will arrive at the Siloli Stone and Desert Tree, and later on, reach the Laguna Colorada (4200 m.) Which stands out due to the wide variety of flamingos. While we watch the sunset and then head back towards the Tayka Desert Hotel, where you will enjoy dinner at the hotel.


The Hotel has hot water and heating until 9:30 p.m. Oxygen cans are available at reception, if required.

Day 3: MAJOR LAGOONS / UYUNI / BUS STATION OR AIRPORT

The tour starts very early with a visit to the fumaroles and geysers. Later we will go to the Green and White Lagoons located on the slopes of the Licancabur Volcano, after visiting these lagoons you will have a delicious boxed lunch in the shadows of the Volcano.


Return to Uyuni or airport (Joya Andina)
